Behind the Curtain Consulting works with athletes and performing artists of all ages, levels, and performance backgrounds. Whether you’re just starting out, competing at an elite level, or somewhere in between, mental skills training can help you gain a competitive edge, reconnect with your enjoyment, and feel more confident in your performance.
B.C.C. also supports individuals navigating challenges beyond performance itself — like injury recovery, career or life transitions, and the stress that can come with applications, auditions, or major next steps. Because performance isn’t separate from life, and sometimes the biggest growth happens behind the curtain.

Sessions are typically around 50 minutes and can take place either in person or virtually. That said, session length is flexible, and frequency can be adjusted to fit your needs, schedule, and goals.
During our first consultation, we’ll work together to create a plan that feels like the right fit for you!

Yes, what’s shared in session stays in session. Creating a space where you feel comfortable being honest, open, and yourself is incredibly important.
Like any helping profession, there are a few ethical exceptions to confidentiality, and we’ll go over those together during our consultation so you know exactly what to expect.
I follow the confidentiality and ethical guidelines set by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).

No, mental skills training is not therapy. While mental health and mental performance can overlap, Behind the Curtain Consulting focuses on optimizing performance and supporting overall well-being.
The goal is to help you build skills that improve confidence, focus, resilience, and consistency in the areas of life and performance that matter most to you.
That said, comprehensive care is important. If additional mental health support would be beneficial, B.C.C. can help guide you toward a licensed professional who may be a good fit for your individual needs.
Because B.C.C. does not have licensed psychologists on staff, any mental health concerns outside the scope of mental performance consulting will be referred to an appropriate licensed provider.

Please reach out for B.C.C.’s current rates. We can also talk through payment during your initial consultation and create a plan that fits best for you.
At B.C.C., we recognize that cost can sometimes be a barrier to seeking mental performance support, and we don’t want that to stop someone from getting help they value. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available each week, and we are also happy to explore flexibility with session length or frequency to help make services more accessible for you.
